Description

Have you tried pricing parts with an aircraft boneyard? If you have you'll understand the value of having a complete aircraft for use as a parts resource. This is a 1957 C172 that had the wings removed and then sat derelict for many years. Sadly, the fuselage has corrosion issues that, while not severe, are simply widespread. Of course, it could all be re-skinned but the IA's that have looked this aircraft over all agree that this course of action is quite impractical. So, if you have a straight tail C172 that you need a lot of stuff for this could be a good solution. It is easier to list what is not with the aircraft than to try to itemize all that is included. It has: no prop, no avionics, no instrument panel / instruments / venturis, and no data plate. Everything else is pretty much there. Such as: fuel system (complete), landing gear (no repairs), wheels / brakes, most control surfaces, control system (complete), flap & rudder mechanism(s), seats (one seat back is missing), wing struts, both wings, and an O-300-A still hanging on the nose. The controls panel and all controls to the engine are present. The engine has not been touched since the last time someone pulled the mixture. Firewall forward is all there: starter, generator, magnetos, exhaust, intake, carb, everything. The engine is a good core for overhaul to aircraft specs, or to airboat specs either one. I have rotated the engine by hand and it turns smoothly and makes compression. No weird noises, has impulse mag. I have the FAA disk of info for this aircraft; and engine & airframe logs too. The pricing for this treasure trove breaks down like this: $2500 for the O-300-A, $2000 for the rest of it. OBO. Please inquire and I'll be happy to answer all questions. Aircraft is in Boise, ID. Could deliver in NW for minor fee (fuel cost).
