I am selling my 1940 Piper J5A cub after a 8 year ground up restoration Total time Airframe, Engine and Propeller since Restoration 21 hours. First flight January 2016.The engine is the C85-12-O tapered shaft engine turning a new Sensenich wood propeller. The cylinders are the new ECI cylinders. New Slick Magnetos, Ignition harness and Spark Plugs. New Camshaft, Push Rods, Oil Pump Kit, Oil Filter adapter kit, Sky-Tec starter, and new Magneto drive gears. Crankshaft, Crank Case and Accessory case are overhauled as is the lifters, Rocker Arms and Propeller adapter. The Carburetor is a Stromberg which is overhauled and Mixture control adapter installed. Wings have new wood wing spars, leading edges, tip bows, control cables and cable fairleads. Ran wires in the wings for Navigation lights for future install of lights if desired. Engine cowl is original, New Carburetor heat air box. Fuselage has new windows, new landing gear on right gear, Grove brakes, new control cables and fairleads, new floor board and new seat covering in real leather including the headliner. New boot cowling and firewall, all instruments overhauled by keystone instruments, Electrical system installed. KT76A transponder with altitude encoder, Hand Held ICOM Nav/Comm radio coupled to an external Nav/Comm antenna. 19 Gallon fuel system (original install).
